Terms of Use

These Terms are the agreement between you and UghOkay (“we,” “us”) for using the UghOkay app (the “App”). They’re written to be readable. By downloading or using the App, you agree to them.
1. Using the App
You may use UghOkay if you’re old enough to form a binding agreement in your country (and at least 13). We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with the App Store Terms of Service.
2. What the App is
UghOkay suggests one small thing to do instead of doomscrolling, and lets you keep a list of activities you like. That’s it. It is a nudge, not a coach, doctor, or therapist (see section 6).
3. Free version and subscription
The App is free to use, including the home-screen widget and activity nudges. The free version lets you add up to 10 of your own activities. An optional UghOkay subscription removes that limit and unlocks unlimited activities. Everything else in the App is free.
Auto-renewing subscription terms
- The subscription is an auto-renewable subscription billed through your Apple ID account.
- The price and billing period (for example, monthly or yearly) are shown in the App at the point of purchase, before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews for the same period at the same price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device’s Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions (or via the App Store).
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel renewal at any time through your Apple ID settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep unlimited access until then. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, in accordance with Apple’s policies. If you’d like to request a refund, contact Apple Support.
5. Acceptable use
Please don’t reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or tamper with the App, or use it to do anything unlawful. The App is provided for your personal use only.
6. Not medical or professional advice
UghOkay is a wellbeing and habit nudge for general purposes. It is notmedical, psychological, or professional advice, and it is not a treatment for any condition, including problematic phone use. If you’re struggling with your mental health or device habits, please talk to a qualified professional. You’re responsible for the activities you choose to do — use common sense and don’t do anything unsafe.
7. Our content
The UghOkay name, the brain mascot, the comics, the artwork, the copy, and the design are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reuse them without our permission. The activities you create are yours.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don’t promise the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will make you productive, calm, or off your phone — though we hope it helps.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us (if anything) in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Termination
You can stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (like ownership, disclaimers, and liability) continue to apply after termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Apple’s own App Store terms also continue to apply to your download and use of the App.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date, and material changes will be posted here before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
